I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

    • Please pass more information in your events

Often, working with the Kendo events is difficult, because the events lack any kind of context. For example, the Change event should also pass back OldValue and NewValue, in case you need to do any additional comparative work on your own, without having to figure out how to get back to the DataItem and figure it out for yourself.

Also, if you are handling a Grid row changed event, or cell changed event, at the very least you should be passing the Uid of the row that changed, so I can get it from the data source.

      • MMVM: Support 'id' and 'for' bindings

Trying to bind to the 'id' and 'for' properties gives an error that this is not supoprted. Both are basic bindings and should be suported.

        • backbone

I would like to see how you would integrate one of Kendo UI's more complex web demos (e.g. the detail template for the grid) into a backbone view

          • Fix Virtual Scrolling With Detail Rows

We are needing the virtual scrolling to work for our project and also need the detail rows working. The explaination of the problem was described on the forums here:

            • grid change event fires on "select" rather than on "change"

When I bind a change event to the grid it will fire each time I click on the row, even if it is the same row. So the selected row is not actually changing, but the event keeps firing anyways. The same thing happens if I programmatically select the row using the select method.

I would rather the change event only fire when when the selection has actually changed rather than on every re-selection.

Otherwise, you might as well call the event "onSelect" rather than "change".

For extra points, it would be cool if the event received a reference to…

                • Allow filtering for individual series

Wouldn't it be nice to be able to filter a field as a property of a series? You could populate stacked and grouped column charts with a single datasource, without having to parse through it manually with js.

In the current implementation, filters are global, which doesn’t play nice with the datasource. Leaving this open to see if it gets additional votes/interest.

Kendo UI is great but it does not work with the integrated webkit in Qt.

                      • Publish unit tests for the controls

Unit tests are usually a part of the complete solution. If I pay for the code, I'd like to be able to make minor changes and verify they work.

Add ability to have graph "scroll" like a stock ticker. This would allow for the graph to dipslay large X axis values while still contained smaller graph area. This woudl also help with displaying dataviz on mobile applications as it would give virtual space to the smaller devices.

I suggest to add some simple arithmetic for the stack values and display them as label to explain the chart in a profession way. Such as showing the total time of all usage for the meeting room. So use sum({0}, {1}) and display it on top of the bar chart.

                                    • 'Lazy' load window content

When using the LoadContentFrom() in a tab inside a Tabstrip, the tab content does not get loaded until it become visible.
Please consider making the Kendo Window behave like the TabStrip when a window use the LoadContentFrom() method, loading the content only when it become visible.

                                        • Don't force us to use .data

It's a relieve that we can use $('#grid').kendoGrid('refresh') already. Thank you guys!

However, it still seems to be a problem when we need to get the instance of a created componente.

For example, if you need to access the grid's thead element, the only possible way is through $('#grid').data('kendoGrid').thead. If I try do this the natural way, (e.g. $('#grid').kendoGrid().thead), my grid is reinitialized. That's a pain.

The expected behavior for most experienced jQuery users is that if plugin is aready instantiated for a specific element, calling it's initializer method should return the instance, instead of creating it again.

                                          Other than…
