I'm happy to report that with R3 2018 we added batch editing (or "in cell editing as it can also be called) to the TreeList component!

I know you said here you do not have in plan to support this (http://www.telerik.com/forums/incell-edit-mode-for-treelist),because of the add. 
But you should difference the add and the update/delete actions:
1. Update only, without add: no there would no adding issue => you can support batch/incell editing
2. Also allow add => do not support batch/incell editing.

Hope you'll add something like this

Batch editing is a great feature that would be perfect to have in my treelists - its more intuitive.
