  1. A TreeView in ComboBox - once again

    A TreeView in ComboBox would be most helpful as both a stand-alone control and when editing within the Grid.

    something like this: http://www.brad-smith.info/blog/archives/193 (example from .NET Windows forms world)

    * Used for relative small tree data structure.
    * User may select one (many) item(s), without _loosing context_ (no interrupting dialog box, 'flat' interface).
    * User may accept selection by click on item, or pressing 'enter'.
    * User may cancel (hide) popup when click outside control/popup (ie in another control, that received focus) or pressing escape - like in combobox/dropdown.
    * It will be nice if user can select items using…

      • UI Web Listview Endless Scrolling

        Just like in the grid and mobile listview, i would like to see an endless scroll option (or serverside paging with virtual scroll) in the Web version of ListView.

          Hi everyone,

          We reviewed the suggestion and its implications. Unlike its mobile equivalent, the Web ListView does not impose any restrictions to the items layout. This means that the complete implementation of this feature should work pretty much like https://www.pinterest.com/ (warning – the site may feature partial nudity or other explicit content on its home screen).

          We identified the following features:

          - multiple items per row
          - Items with different height, which seem to feature some distribution algorithm
          - virtualization – Items that exit the viewport are removed from the DOM
          - reordering and persistence on resize

          In addition to the above, we are aware of requirements such as:
          - fixed headers
          - support for deep linking / scrolling to a given item

          Worth mentioning is that complete, reliable support for the above requires an adequate back-end implementation, and, most likely a specialized data source implementation.

          Based on our experience…

        • Add chunking option to upload widget.

          I think, it would by great, to have option to chunk files into smaller pieces. It allows better uploading big files. When using PHP backend, there is max post size restriciton. I think, chunking method is faster etc.

              This feature would require support for item templates in the menu. Presently we don’t have immediate plans to support this functionality.

            • Area-range chart series

              For example; similar to http://www.highcharts.com/stock/demo/arearange

              Having area 'scatter' support, such as 'scatterArea', and 'scatterAreaRange', like the existing 'scatterLine', is also desirable.

              • Built in PDF Viewer control for Both Kendo UI and Kendo UI Mobile

                It would be nice to have a built in PDF viewer control in the Kendo UI and Kendo UI Mobile. Especially Mobile so we do not have to search the net for decent controls that may or may not work for the different devices.

                • Hierarchical Datasource filters

                  Possibility to add filters to hierarchical datasource, that execute recursively.
                  Use case: In TreeView we need to search for some element text, we need to see elements that contain some text and their parents expanded. Filtering could be usefull here.

                  • Improve performance for large TreeLists (virtualization)

                    As discussed on the forum (http://www.telerik.com/forums/virtualization-for-treelist) please improve the rendering/scrolling/expanding/collapsing performance of TreeLists with many expanded rows.

                    Grids support virtualization and work well with hundreds of thousands of rows (http://demos.telerik.com/kendo-ui/grid/virtualization-local-data). Perhaps virtualization can be added to TreeLists to achieve similar results?

                          Add a multiple date selection to the Calendar. A multiple date selection calendar is very important for professional web applications in many situations. Also, there is a lack of events in the API.
                          It is always important to provide more events then less.

                          • provide more information in groupheadertemplate

                            The event args from column.groupHeaderTemplate (and groupFooterTemplate) should contain a function to retrieve the data for that group. Currently, they only contain "field" and "value." If you made the grouped rows available in this event, clients would be free to add multiple aggregate columns of the same type (i.e., get the "sum" of multiple values instead of being limited to a single value). I've been able to halfway implement this, but it only works correctly if I'm only grouping by one column. For example, if I'm grouped by WidgetName and then by ProductCode, my event args for ProductCode should contain…

                            • ImageBrowser as a standalone widget

                              I've been playing around with the ImageBrowser (Editor) and would love to see a variation of the ImageBrowser as a standalone widget. If I could use it without the Editor to simply select or upload an image file that would really add value to some of my applications (for which I now have to use a different tool: elFinder).

                              Since the ImageBrowser already exists, hopefully this would be an easy addition to the KendoUI toolset! :)

                              • populate a menu from a DataSource

                                It would be great to be able to simply connect the menu widget to a DataSource to populate. It will allow for a data driven menu, instead of having to handle that logic on the client side.

                                • More Grid Events

                                  I'd like to see an event for Grid contents modified (after-edit or after-add/delete, etc). This would enable a sync with a DataSource, for instance, without further user action. Presently, this is not easily achieved.

                                  • Add Right To Left PDF support

                                    Kendo UI supports PDF export. It would be great if you could add glyph mirroring support to it as well (https://github.com/mozilla/pdf.js/blob/master/src/core/bidi.js). PDF export of RTL languages such as Arabic and Persian need this trick to work properly.

                                    • Add Trendline to a line chart

                                      It would be a great help if there was a way to add a Trendline to a line chart in the DataViz collection. This function is available in excel and other similar programs.
                                      The wiki page explains:

                                      • .Where, .Select, .Single, .OrderBy, First on ObservableArray

                                        It would be exponentially helpful if the "ObservableArray" implemented some basic "Where/Select/Single" methods. This would assist in searching through them and give Kendo UI a much needed facelift in the array department.

                                        Behavior would be, theoretically, as follows...

                                        var viewModel = kendo.observable({
                                        Users: [
                                        {
                                        id: 1,
                                        name: "Stacey"
                                        },
                                        {
                                        id: 2,
                                        name: "Dylan"
                                        },
                                        {
                                        id: 3,
                                        name: "John"
                                        }
                                        ]
                                        });

                                        var idSearch = 1;

                                        var result = kendo.Search(viewModelArray).Where(function(x) { return x.id == idSearch });

                                        or ...

                                        var result = kendo.Search(viewModelArray)
                                        .Single(function(x) { return x.id == idSearch });

                                        or possibly even chained like in "linqjs"

                                        var result…

                                        • Apply Modell Settings to the HTML View on kendo.bind

                                          Suppose a model is defined with settings for editable, required, validation, etc. Then this model is used a datasource's schema.

                                          Instances of the datasource's data will be models. However, if a model is bound to some HTML view, it's settings are not applied to the view. All settings have to be manually applied to the HTML elements.

                                          I suggest that these settings are applied automatically. Then for example, a field's property like "required" wouldn't have to be coded at two different places.
