  1. Lock/Freeze columns on both sides of kendo grid.

    Locked columns can only be on one side of the Grid.
    In Kendo Grid, is it possible to have locked columns on the left and right side.
    For Eg: my grid has like 20 columns and i want to lock first few columns to the left side and also lock the custom commands column on the right side of the grid.

      • Tabstrip add show/hide method and set Tab text API to tabStrip

        Show/Hide API and set Tab text API for tabStrip items would be nice instead of using the "attr" and "innerText"

        Example of using the "attr" to hide a tab and "innerText" to set tab text

        $($("#tabstrip").data("kendoTabStrip").items()[tab_index_variable]).attr("style", "display:none");

        $($("#tabstrip").data("kendoTabStrip").items()[tab_index_variable]).children()[0].innerText = "New Tab Title";

        Would also be great to have method Hidden() for the MVC wrapper

        tabstrip.Add().Text("Some Tab").Hidden(true).LoadContentFrom("action", "controler");

        instead of

        tabstrip.Add().Text("Some Tab").HtmlAttributes(new { style = "display: none;" }).LoadContentFrom("action", "controler");

        • add typescript definitions to private nupak

          You have a private Nuget feed for the KendoUI Professional packages. The package in that feed doesn't contain the typescript definitions.

          However, if I download the *.zip version of the KendoUI Professional from the "Your Account" area of the web site, it contains the TypeScript definitions.

          Please add the TypeScript definitions to the NuGet package.

          • Combobox should support options disabled attribute

            The combobox currently doesn't react on the disabled-attribute for options. It should be possible to make single options visible but not selectable with this attribute as in original html-select:
            http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tryit.asp?filename=tryhtml_option_disabled
            I found no way to do this yet.

            • colorpicker Hint/Name for colours

              The colour picker palette should be capable of accepting name value pairs. This way, the colours can be named or given a hint which shows as a tooltip to help users choose which colour to use. Very helpful when we allow users to create a list of colours which could be subtly different and only a hint would easily differentiate them.

                • Make standard TreeList Cancel- and Update-Button texts customizable (as in the grid)

                  When using the standard Edit command in a column, it is possible to customize the standard text for the edit button (command.Edit().Text("Doit")).
                  But it is not possible to customize the Cancel- or Update-Text (as it is in the grid: command.Edit().CancelText("Nope").UpdateText("Yep")) or to leave the text blank.

                  • Implement Inline comment in Kendo Editor

                    We are using Kendo UI editor in our project and one of our requirement was to implement the inline comment feature.

                    I have implemented a extension to Kendo editor using JS inbuild functions and CSS to create a Inline comments for any text in the editor.

                    User can select any text in the kendo editor and add review comments against it. Other user can see the comments, Reply to the comments or add, delete, edit their own comments.

                    User can clear all the comments on click of one button.

                    • Interpret string values automatically as hyperlinks

                      We have a scenario where we have a grid that can contain many types of data in a single column. This includes numeric values and string values which could be valid hyperlinks. Our request is for automatic detection when a string matches a hyperlink syntax to automatically create it as a link in the Grid data cell itself rather than simply appearing as a string value. Thus the user would be able to just click on the hyperlink rather than copying and pasting the contents of the cell into their browser search bar.

                      • More intuitive column resizing for non-scrollable grids

                        When scrolling is disabled for a grid and column resizing is enabled, resizing a column acts in a strange manner and attempts to size all columns of the grid. I would expect that only the two columns on each side of the resize handle should have their widths altered. Otherwise scenarios can occur where you are completely unable to resize columns. If this would not be default functionality, I would at least suggest a flag to enable it at grid setup.

                        • Center the nodes below each other.

                          Please consider implementing some feature to be able to center nodes below their ancestors in your diagram.

                          Check out http://dojo.telerik.com/ADUbo
                          there you can see how node E is right under its parent C, while the other node in the same level is far to the right. Expected result for a more pleasant user experience would be that both nodes E and D would be equally close to their common parent C.

                          • Multiple Grid toolbars to fit more design situations

                            As explained in this support ticket
                            https://www.telerik.com/account/support-tickets/view-ticket?threadid=1063565

                            I asked me questions about the Kendo-UI Grids toolBar that is only place at the top of datatables.

                            I’ve been reading on forum thread that, with javascript, we can place it elsewhere but i don’t think that it is very clean code and maintainable.

                            I'd like this toolbar to be adaptable according to the design I need !

                            So I suggest to modify/improve this component to fit more situations
                            (eg.:
                            - to place it in the "page’s information zone" for export buttons

                              • A TreeView in ComboBox - once again

                                A TreeView in ComboBox would be most helpful as both a stand-alone control and when editing within the Grid.

                                something like this: http://www.brad-smith.info/blog/archives/193 (example from .NET Windows forms world)

                                * Used for relative small tree data structure.

                                * User may cancel (hide) popup when click outside control/popup (ie in another control, that received focus) or pressing escape - like in combobox/dropdown.

                                    • k-state-disabled on masked textbox

                                      The read-only property available on most kendo input fields isn't obvious enough for the end user that a field is disabled. It is a source of confusion as it makes the form look broken rather than read-only. Adding k-state-disabled is important from a form readability perspective, thus it would be very helpful if that class was made available on dropdown lists and masked textboxes so they match the textboxes on forms without having to selectively apply additonal CSS.

                                      • Add the ability for Kendo Grid's "colum.values" option to accept either an array of column values, or a function that returns the array

                                        Currently, Kendo Grid has a "column.values" option that accepts an array of key/value pairs. These values are used to render human-readable text for fields that are foreign keys. Depending on how the grid is used, this array of "available values" could be dynamic. Currently, there is no way to update these arrays without calling "setOptions" manually with the new, correct column definitions.

                                        To fix this, Kendo Grid should track changes to the "column.value" array (via some sort of observable or something - I'm not sure exactly how things work under the hood). Alternatively, "column.values" could also accept a function. This…
